After returning from a brief hiatus and making an on-screen appearance in the 2012 romantic comedy-drama flick Silver Linings Playbook, actor/ comedian Chris Tucker returns to the spotlight as host of this year's BET Awards.
The Def Comedy Jam pioneer said he's honored to take on the role and is "looking forward to being part of a really great show."
The awards ceremony will be a part of the new "BET Experience at L.A. Live," a three-day event that kicks off with a special concert from Beyonce as part of her Mrs. Carter Tour June 28. Other scheduled performers for the weekend include Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, the Jacksons and R. Kelly.
The BET Awards is set to emanate from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles June 30 at 8:30 p.m.
